Subject of the funding

With this funding measure “KMU-innovativ: Ressourceneffizienz und Klimaschutz” (Innovative SMEs: Resource Efficiency and Climate Protection), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is pursuing the goal of strengthening the innovation potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the area of cutting-edge research and making research funding more attractive, especially for SMEs submitting their first application. The funding measure is part of the German government’s High-Tech Strategy 2025 and the BMBF’s ten-point program for more innovation in SMEs “Give SMEs the right of way”.

In the first stage of the procedure, project outlines can be submitted at any time to the BMBF’s project management agency using the online outline tool for the funding measure “KMU-innovativ: Ressourceneffizienz und Klimaschutz”.

Evaluation deadlines for project outlines are April 15 and October 15 of each year.
