KMU-innovativ: Photonics and quantum technologies

Subject of the funding programmes

The object of the funding is high-risk industrial precompetitive R&D projects that are cross-technological and application-oriented. These R&D projects must be in the field of photonics or quantum technologies and must be important for the company’s positioning in the market. The main objective of BMBF funding is to strengthen the position of SMEs in the accelerated transfer of technology from the precompetitive field to practical application.

In the first stage of the procedure, project outlines can be submitted online at any time via the online outline tool for the funding measure “KMU-innovativ: Photonics and Quantum Technologies” on the KmU-innovativ Internet portal. The information required for participation in the announcement is available on the Internet portal. Evaluation deadlines for project outlines are every six months, on April 15 and October 15.

The term of this funding guideline is limited until the expiry of its legal basis, the GBER, plus an adjustment period of six months, i.e. until June 30, 2021.
