IOT, TU Braunschweig

The Institute for Surface Technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig deals in research and teaching with questions of production, characterization and application of coatings and surface modifications. In addition to topics from the fields of mechanical and automotive engineering, the institute’s work covers all areas in which function-optimized surfaces are used or required today.

The institute is a part of the Technical University (TU) and is located in Braunschweig.

The focus of research is on physical and chemical gas phase processes. With the change of the institute’s management in 2001, the importance of modern plasma-based production processes has further increased.
