BMBF: Ideas Competition – New Products for the Bioeconomy

Targets

  • Strengthen bioeconomy

  • Translating ideas and research results into commercial applications for the bioeconomy
  • to develop product ideas and the technical implementation as well as the exploration of economic exploitation options.

Subject of the funding

  • Exploration of new product ideas for a bio-based economy as well as feasibility studies on their technical feasibility
  • Two phases: Exploratory phase and feasibility phase

Period of validity

The term of this funding guideline is limited until the expiry of its legal basis, the GBER, plus an adjustment period of six months, i.e. until June 30, 2024. In the event that the temporal application of the GBER is extended without relevant substantive changes affecting the aid scheme, the term of this funding guideline will be extended accordingly, but not beyond December 31, 2035. Should the GBER not be extended and replaced by a new GBER, or should relevant changes be made to the content of the current GBER, a successor funding directive corresponding to the exemption provisions then in force will be put into effect until at least December 31, 2035.
