Coatings shape optical and thermo properties of glass or transparent synthetics. Heat insulation and sun-protective coatings allow an improvement of energy-transmission of architecture- and automobile-verification.
Transparent and conductive coatings are the base for heat able panes, electro-magnetic shielding or touch-screens. The optical industries need antireflection components, filters or reflectors in manifold variations.
The focus is currently set beyond self-cleaning glasses based on photo inducing hydrophilic properties. One condition to replace mineral glasses by light synthetics in many fields of application requires a realization of cost-efficient transparent scratch-resistant protection coatings.
