The Tribology Competence Center combines applied research and science with contemporary teaching. The focus of the interdisciplinary scientific work is on researching and optimizing tribological systems on the basis of practical model and component testing technology.

The Tribology Competence Center offers cooperation partners independent advice on tribological issues.

This means concretely that the solution or optimization either by:

• constructive measures,
• improved lubrication and/or lubricants,
• more suitable materials,
• Coatings or
• targeted surface modification can be achieved.
